Based on the DC Comic characters that first surfaced in the comic series The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, Lucifer is an American Urban fantasy series. The series is just like an Epic we find in literature with so many episodes and layers. Developed by Tom Kapinos, Lucifer got recognization just after it’s the first season which was originally premiered by FOX on January 25th, 2016. However, FOX canceled the season after 3 seasons and Netflix became the new home for the series.
The series has 5 seasons (75 episodes). Season 5 has been split into 2 parts by Netflix, the 2nd part is yet to release on Netflix. Fans are excited since Netflix has announced the renewal of season 6. Initially, season 5 was going to be the last season. But Netflix reversed its decision and decided upon season 6 as the final one.

If you are not aware of what Lucifer is about, here is the synopsis:
“The series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar, a beautiful and powerful angel who was cast out of Heaven for his betrayal. Like the Devil, Lucifer tires of the millennia, he’s spent being the Lord of Hell, becoming increasingly bored and unhappy. He resigns his throne in defiance of his father (God) and abandons his kingdom for Los Angeles, where he ends up running his own nightclub called “Lux”. When he finds himself involved in a murder investigation, he meets the intriguing Detective Chloe Decker and accepts the subsequent invitation to become a consultant to the LAPD. Throughout the series, several celestial and demonic threats come to Los Angeles; at the same time, Lucifer and Chloe end up appreciating and finding happiness with each other.”
The plot of season 6 is tough to predict as the 2nd part of season 5 is not yet out. Part 1 of Season 5 released on 21st August 2020 and we are expecting the 2nd part around mid-2021.
So, season 6 is a long trail. Netflix has not yet given out the release date or trailer of the sixth season.
