Lumberjanes is an upcoming TV show by HBO Max. It is based on a popular comic book series that has been lauded for its feminist friendships, criticism of toxic masculinity and questions about gender binary. Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooklyn A. Allen and Noelle Stevenson created the comic series and published it through Boom! Studios.
Originally, the comic was an eight-part series, but it continued publishing due to strong sales and great acclaim. While the comic series is scheduled to end in December 2020, we are excited for the television show to come out!

Lumberjanes: Plot and Characters
The story of the comic series is set at a summer camp called Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types.
Yes, you did read that right. Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types, if you didn’t get it the first time.
The attendees of this camp are known as Lumberjane Scouts. Five of them live in the Roanoke cabin: April, Jo, Ripley, Molly and Mal. They witness an old woman turning into a bear! When they follow her, they find a pack of supernatural foxes with three eyes who look ready to attack them. They soon start to see more creatures with three eyes and start to investigate the mysteries in the camp.
Jo is cool-headed and analytical, and acts as the de-facto leader of the group. She is a transgender girl who has two gay fathers. She loves to follow the rules and to solve mathematical puzzles. April is dramatic and loves puns and is Jo’s best friend.
Molly loves to read and looks after the group. Mal looks very punk but is sensitive and anxious. She has a crush on Molly, which is reciprocated. Ripley is the youngest one of the group but is the most courageous.
