Created by Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, Mayans M.C. is an American crime drama television series. The show takes place in the same fictional universe as Sons of Anarchy and deals with the Sons’ rivals-turned-allies, the Mayans Motorcycle Club. James and Sutter have also served as executive producers of the show along with Norberto Barba, Kevin Dowling, Michael Dinner, and Hilton Smith.

The show’s first season premiered on September 4, 2018, on FX. This was followed by a second season on September 3, 2019 and the third on March 16, 2021. The fourth season premiered on April 19, 2022. In July 2022, the series was renewed for a fifth season.

Mayans M.C. Plot and Cast

It’s all change in Mayans MC should the show return for season five, with EZ embracing his position as a leader of the Santo Padre chapters of the biker gang… not that he’s going to be a particularly fair or good one. Throughout season four, EZ became more cutthroat and violent – killing several people as his humanity slipped further from his grasp. Even his loved ones were mowed down in his path to the top.

Speaking to GameSpot, showrunner Elgin James said: “We haven’t really seen a benevolent leader before.
“We haven’t seen someone that operates on love for his brothers. Marcus operated this machine, but then look at how people would just drop like flies and Sons of Anarchy, you know, people would just drop.”

This is probably the last thing they need considering there’s a growing war between the Mayans and Sons of Anarchy.
Angel had reached his limit with his brother, sparking a row between them that could end up going south pretty quickly, going head-to-head in a tense confrontation.

When Mayans MC returns for season five, it just wouldn’t be the same without the leading brothers whose story sets the backdrop of everything we see. So JD Pardo and Clayton Cardenas will be back for more. Other stars we’re expecting to hear more of include Sarah Bolger, Carla Baratta, and Emilio Rivera.

Mayans M.C. Season 5 Release Date

During the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con panel, it was revealed that the show would be officially returning for Season 5 in 2023. No official date for the first episode has been set yet, but past seasons may be an indication of a likely premiere date for season 5 of Mayans M.C.

While the first two seasons began in September, seasons 3 and 4 both premiered in the spring. If Mayans M.C. season 5 continues this trend, new episodes as early as March 2023. The upcoming season might consist of ten episodes. Although, an official confirmation is awaited.
