McClane: The sixth Die Hard film – Cast, Release Date and more Updates!

After five action-packed Die Hard films, John McClane is returning with another enthralling Die Hard film. The sequel/prequel will be the sixth film in the Die Hard franchise and is coming after a long wait of seven years. The franchise has Die Hard fans all over the world, and these fans will be on top of the world with the news of another Die Hard film coming soon.

Cast and Plot of the movie

McClane is going to be a sequel to the fifth Die Hard film, A Good Day to Die Hard, as well as a prequel to the entire franchise. So we will be seeing an old John McClane in the film. The film will be showing the story of the titular character in his 20s, as a New York City beat cop, before he became a detective. A new actor will be cast to play the role of young John McClane. Who it will be, is still unconfirmed. However, that does not mean Bruce Willis won’t be returning to the cast. Bruce Willis will be playing the role of present-day, older McClane. 

It is speculated that Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be reprising her role as John McClane’s daughter, Lucy McClane. Jai Courtney is also expected to return to his role as John’s son and CIA agent Jack McClane. Since McClane will also be a prequel and focus on the titular character’s early days, we could hope for the return of his estranged wife, Holly Gennaro. 

Len Wiseman will be the director of McClane. Wiseman had also directed the fourth film in the franchise, Live Free or Die Hard, and is also known for the Underworld series.

Release Date of McClane

As of now, there is no official release date that has been announced for the sixth Die Hard film, but it is expected that McClane will release in theatres sometime in 2022.
