McMafia is a British crime drama series that has been created by Hossein Amini and James Watkins. The show is inspired from the book “McMafia : A Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld” written by journalist Misha Glenny in the year 2008. The first season premiered on 1st January 2018 on BBC One and on 26th February 2018 in United States on AMC. The show has been co-produced by BBC, AMC Networks, and Cuba Pictures. The first season concluded on 11th February 2018 and had 8 episodes.
The show has opened to positive reviews from critics and it was later also renewed for a second season. After a successful first season, fans have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of Season 2. Although there has been very little information about the second season, it has been confirmed by the makers of the show.

The second season of McMafia is definitely going ahead and the series has also been a recipient of the International Emmy Award for Best Drama and creators Hossein Amini and James Watkins said that they are very excited to bring Season 2 to the fans who loved the first season. Season 2 was expected to release in 2019 but for now, it is known that filming has been delayed. Season 2 might have eight episodes like Season 1 but makers have not yet announced an official release date of Season 2.
