The Chinese manufacturer Meizu is all geared up to launch its flagship Meizu M16s smartphone. The launch is expected to happen in China first, but it appears to launch in the Indian market about the same time.
The confirmation for the same come’s from the teaser posted on Meizu’s official Twitter account. The teaser hints at the upcoming features which include speed, utility performance, extra features and RAM. The company is using ‘#ThePowerof16” for marketing the device.
Lately, the company re-entered the Indian smartphone market with the launch of the Meizu 16 flagship smartphone. The launch came three months after its release in China. However, things appear to be different this year with a very small gap between the launch of the device in both the countries. There is even the possibility of the handset launching first in India as there isn’t a teaser or campaign in China yet.
Meizu 16s: What to expect?
From a report, live photos of the Meizu 16s and 16s Plus have surfaced online. Though it lacks a notch or a punch hole, its bezels will be slimmer than that of its predecessor.
Notably, the Meizu 16s will feature a 6.2 inch AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. A top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset powers the device.
There is a Sony IMX586 48MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). A 3,600 mAh battery will with no wireless charging back up the handset. Meizu CEO Huang Zhang believes the current contact wireless charging technology doesn’t have a big practical significance.

The Meizu 16s leaked image reveals a slim display with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio which gives an illusion of a bezel-less display. It is called a quad bezel-less design. It is 1.5 mm thinner than the predecessor Meizu 16. There will be Black and White colour options and the expected price is around $490 (Rs 35,000). The company is expected to give an official launch date soon. Till then, Stay tuned.
