Messiah Season 2: Release Date, Trailer and Trivia!
Netflix announced recently that it will not be renewing Messiah for season 2! The officials at Netflix have canceled the show after its season 1 due to the lack of fanbase and popularity of the show.
The which got released in January 2020, with a total of 10 episodes. Each episode with a duration of 45-50 minutes on an average. The show is based on the theme of an individual who somehow due to unknown and some ambiguous reason ends up gathering followers. People follow him and preach his teachings.

This man, who has nothing to offer more than words, dressed shabbily and looks like a peasant ends up garnering the support of various people. The show’s script also parallelly follows the life of a CIA agent who is on the mission to unravel the reason behind this man’s ability to get people to stop their chores and follow him.
The plot of the show basically follows these two key incidents but fails to give a strong connecting link between the two. The show’s foundational storyline was very weak and did not do justice to its promising-looking trailer.
According to sources, due to ethnic backlash, the show faced a fall in their viewership after a couple of episodes. Along with this due to poor characterization and very less context given to the characters and the incidents that were taking place in the show, the show was unable to pique the interest of its viewers and that of the critics!
The cast for the first included Michelle Monaghan, Mehdi Dehbi, John Ortiz, Tomer Sisley, Melinda Page Hamilton, Stefania LaVie Owen, Sayyid El Alami, Jane Adams, Wil Travel, Fares Landoulsi and Philip Baker Hall. The cast and crew of the show were sad to confirm the news of the show’s cancellation but did not reveal the reason behind the show’s cancellation. The creators of the show too did not comment on the rumors of ethnic backlash instead they only confirmed the news of parting away!
