Xiaomi today confirmed that the Mi A3 will launch in India on August 23. The smartphone was initially launched in Spain last month. It is the successor to the Mi A2 and is the third device based on Google’s Android One programme. Amazon India also confirmed that the Mi A3 will be available for purchase on its platform.
Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain revealed the date through a tweet. The announcement comes just a day after Jain posted a teaser video about the Mi A3 Indian launch. The Chinese manufacturer also sent media invites for the launch event. The launch will begin at 12PM (noon) IST as per company’s format invite and will take place in New Delhi.
Mi A3 specifications
The Mi A3 features a 6.08 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:9. It has a waterdrop notch on top and is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card.
The device sports a triple camera setup at the rear consisting of a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP secondary sensor with a 118-degree wide-angle view and f/1.79 aperture and a 2MP tertiary sensor for depth sensing. On the front, it flaunts a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The dual-SIM handset runs Android 9 Pie and is backed by a 4,030 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WI-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The MI A3 is available in three color options: “Not Just Blue”, “More Than White” and “Kind of Gray”. It was launched in Spain with a price starting at EUR 249 (Rs 19,900) for the 64GB variant and EUR 279 (Rs 22,200) for the 128GB variant.
