Michelle Obama announced on May 27 that Netflix will release a documentary featuring her experiences after her memoir ‘Becoming’ got published. The documentary is directed by Nadia Hallgren and will release on May 6. The film is the third joint production between Netflix and Higher Ground Productions, Obama’s production company. Former US first lady’s tweet read, “I’m excited to share that on May 6, Netflix will release BECOMING, a documentary directed by Nadia Hallgren that shares the stories of the amazing people I met after the release of my memoir. During this difficult time, I hope you’ll find some inspiration and joy in this film.”
Michelle Obama’s critically acclaimed memoir, Becoming: A Guided Journal for Discovering Your Voice was out in November 2018 . The memoir is an inspiring account Obama’s journey amidst all the obstacles that she tackled despite of all the odds against her and her family. The audiobook of the memoir has won Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album.
