Popular sitcom of ABC ‘Mixed-ish’ is the third entry in ‘Black-ish’ franchise after the titular series and ‘Grown-ish’. Mixed-ish is a prequel of both the shows and depicts the early life of Rainbow “Bow’ Johnson, who is the matriarch in Johnson family and it puts more emphasis on the experiences of Rainbow and her siblings as mixed children who grew up during 1980s. The creator of the previous two shows, Kenya Barris is a co-creator of Mixed-ish with Peter Saji and Tracee Ellis Ross.
The show has received decent feedback from critics and they have particularly praised the cast, writing and willingness for exploring interracial relationships in a historic setting. The first season of the show has garnered a high rate of viewership and the demand for more number of seasons has subsequently increased. The first season premiered on 24th September 2019 and the official trailer was released on 14th May 2019. The series is loosely based on the early life of Dr. Raina Barris, who is the wife of co-creator Kenya Barris.

Release Date of Mixed-ish Season 2
Mixed-ish was renewed for a second season on May 2020 and the episodes are making their premieres one after another. The first episode aired on 26th January 2021, followed by four more episodes that premiered on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd February. The 6th episode will be available for viewing on 2nd March 2021.
Cast of Mixed-ish Season 2
The older version of the main character, Tracee Ellis Ross is the main narrator. Younger Bow is being played Arica Hammel. The roles of her parents Alicia and Paul Jackson are being played by Tika Sumpter and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Gary Cole is playing the role of Harrison Jackson III who is Paul’s father. Christina Anthony is playing the role of Alicia’s sister Denise.
Mykal-Michelle Harris has been cast as Santamonica, Mark and Alicia’s youngest daughter. The older version of the character is being played by Rashida Jones. The role of Johan is being played by Ethan William Childress and Daveed Diggs has reprised his role as the older Johan. Overall, all the members of the cast from the first season have returned for the second season.
