Money Heist Season 5 is coming! Will this be the last season?

The heist is near to an end.

Netflix has renewed the famous Spanish heist drama show Money Heist for the fifth season. It’s probably going to be the last season of the show. The streaming giant announced the news on its official social media handle. The photo on social media shows a mask of Salvador Dalí, torn and lying on the ground.

Shooting will shortly begin in Spain, Denmark, and Portugal, with the actors Miguel Ángel Silvestre, and Patrick Criado.

The last time we saw them, the Professor’s (Álvaro Morte) party declared war on the authorities during their research at the Bank of Spain, as it was found by Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri), the investigator who was pursuing him.

The heist started to rescue Rio (Miguel Herrán), but it cost them the precious team leader Nairobi (Alba Flores). The series will hit uncharted waters as it returns, going past the heist to avenge its death.

New Members to join in?

Next season the Professor and the world of his staff will have some new faces around him. The ensemble cast is joined by actors Miguel Ángel Silvestre (above), known for portraying Sense8’s Lito, and Patrick Criado. Although Pina has not disclosed the full specifics of the new faces and how they will blend into the plot.

Jesús Colmenar will be producing executives with Pina ending his work as executive producer and showrunner along with Cristina López Ferraz, who will act as the director of the production. Javier Gómez Santander is the editor-in-chief and co-producer of DoP Migue Amodeo and Esther Martínez-Lobato.

Former directors Jesús Colmenar, Koldo Serra and Álex Rodrigo are back behind the camera.

Money Heist has been lauded for its satirical qualities, the subversion of a heist film and TV conventions, progressive messages, and compelling narrative that has enthralled millions of viewers across the globe.

Having the complex scheme of The Professor come true has captured the eye of hundreds of millions of viewers to Netflix. Not only is Money Heist one of Netflix’s most successful shows of all time. Though it’s still the streamer’s most famous non-English series; part 4 of the crime thriller, which debuted in April 2020, was viewed in the first four weeks of broadcast by 65 million users.
