Ms. Marvel: Release Date, Plot and more!

Created by Bisha K. Ali, Ms. Marvel is an upcoming television miniseries, made for Disney+. Ali is also the executive producer alongside Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and Adil El Arbi Bilall Fallah.

Plans related to the development of a series based on Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel was announced in September 2016. The project was confirmed by Feige in May 2018 and he stated that it would follow the release of the film Captain Marvel since Khan is inspired by the film’s title character, Carol Danvers.

Ms. Marvel Plot and Cast

Although the plot details have not been revealed much, the official synopsis of the series states that it would focus on Kamala Khan. Khan is a fangirl of the Avengers, specifically of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and she struggles to fit in until she gains her own universe.

Kamala Khan is a Pakistani-American teen from New Jersey and she is an avid gamer, great student, aspiring artist and ferocious fan fictionist. Speaking about the comics based on the character, editor Sana Amanat mentioned in an interview in 2016,

“We wanted to tell a story about a young individual coming into their own and dealing with all of the obstacles that come with that journey to adulthood.”

Coming to the cast, the lead members include Iman Vellani, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Laurel Marsden, Adaku Ononogbo, Laith Nakli, Travina Springer and Aramis Knight. Apart from them, Fawad Khan, Arian Moayed, Alysia Reiner, Azhar Usman, Nimra Bucha, Alyy Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Anjali Bhimani and Farhan Akhtar have been cast in supporting roles.

Ms. Marvel Release Date

Ms. Marvel was initially scheduled to release in 2021 but after the announcement of Hawkeye in November 2021, the release was delayed since two Marvel Studios series won’t release at the same time.

The series was then confirmed to release in 2022 and the same was confirmed in November 2021. The makers then confirmed in March 2022 that the series would premiere on June 8, 2022.
