Premise

Narcos: Mexico is the continuation of “Narcos” which explores the origins of the modern drug war by going back to its roots. Narcos Mexico revolves around a time when the Mexican trafficking world was a loose, disorganized confederation of independent growers and dealers. It’s the 1980s, and Felix Gallardo takes the helm of the Guadalajara¬†Cartel, unifying traffickers to build an empire. As DEA agent Kiki Camarena moves his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara to take on a new post, he learns his assignment is more challenging than he imagined. A tragic chain of events unfolds as Camarena gains intelligence on Gallardo and becomes more entangled in the mission. As the show progresses, the twisted chemistry between the cartel and gringos unravel.

Where we ended

We saw Kiki and Felix play the game of cat and mouse which came to a sticky end. Kiki was tortured and killed by Felix and in order to combat the war on drugs, the US Government sent its own agent to infiltrate the cartel in the country. Season 2 was pretty much the retribution of Kiki’s death. In the past, things were by the book until cartels themselves broke the rules. The US started to isolate the suspects and tortured them into giving up info. Little did they know that they don’t have the cartel but cartel has them. Season 2 has had the most brutal scenes so far. El Chapo gets highlighted towards the end when he shifted from being a logistical help to Felix to becoming a drug lord after Gellardo’s arrest. Thanks to the tunnel he built under the border, he was able to export more than any figures in history. Unlike, the original Narcos where the story centered at Pablo Escobar, Narcos Mexico has too many characters involved and somehow makes it difficult to keep track of the parallel stories. Walt visits Felix in the finale and shows him how his entire world crumbled around him which really feels like the perfect way to end the run with Walt rubbing Kiki in Felix’s face. The show ends with plazas joining forces and as we know they are going to form one of the words biggest narcotics of all time led predominantly by El Chapo. They will end up becoming network cartels and creating a bigger problem than Felix would ever be. The cage is now open and the world is about to see the animals set free.

Where Season 3 at?

The show did tease its fans with the rise of El Chapo and Amado with Walt realizing that he hasn’t stopped them no matter what. It was a brilliant way to set up the entry of Season 3. There hasn’t been any official announcement on any developments regarding Season 3. But, we strive to get you the news about your favorite shows as soon as possible. Keep tuned in.
