Created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill, NCIS is a police procedural television series and focuses on a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service combining elements of military drama and police procedure genres.
Bellisario and McGill are also the executive producers alongside Steven D. Binder, Frank Cardea, Chas. Floyd Johnson, Mark Harmon and Mark Horowitz. The show first premiered on September 23, 2003 and ran for 19 seasons until 2021. The series has been already renewed for 21st season and it is scheduled to premiere soon.

NCIS Plot and Cast
It is impossible to predict what might happen in the 20th season of NCIS. Season 18 finished in a cliffhanger with Gibbs almost killed in a boat explosion and a serial killer on the loose.
For now, it is fair to say that in the upcoming season, we would learn more about new recruit Alden Parker, who has taken over Gibbs’ senior role. While speaking about his character for Season 19, Gary Cole said,
“Parker isn’t overly chatty, but he is more verbal. He’s not as old school; he tries to get his hands on new tech gadgets and impress everybody. He’s trying to fit in with the rest of the team. Although he may be reluctant to voice it, he admires that Gibbs breaks rules. Parker bends them. We’ll see if it gets to the point of breaking.”
Coming to the cast, we should get to see Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, David McCallum, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen, Pauley Perrette and Michael Weatherly in the lead roles. Other supporting actors who might appear include Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Cote de Pablo. Maria Bello, Diona Reasonover, Duane Henry, Jennifer Esposito and Lauren Holly.
NCIS Season 20 Release Date
Since NCIS was renewed for a 20th season on March 31, 2022, it is for sure that we would not get to see the new season in 2022. But we can expect it to premiere by mid 2023.
The number of episodes for the new season are also not confirmed until now as it has been different in all the 19th seasons. The makers are yet to make further announcements related to Season 20.
