Bellisario and Don McGill, NCIS is an American police procedural television series, revolving around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service combining elements of the military drama and police procedural genres. The concept and characters were initially introduced in two episodes of the CBS series JAG.

The series finished its tenth season as the most-watched television series in the U.S. during the 2012–13 network television season. The latest season of the show was released on September 19, 2022, and is still ongoing. In February 2023, the makers renewed the show for a new season which is soon coming on CBS.

NCIS Plot and Cast

The basic premise of the show follows a fictional team of special agents of the Major Case Response Team from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. It is very hard to predict any certain storyline for the upcoming season since the 20th season has not concluded yet. For now, we can speculate that the 21st season will pick up the story from where the 20th season will leave off the story.

The cast members of the previous season are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Mark Harmon, Sasha Alexander, Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Rocky Carroll, Lauren Holly, David McCallum, Brian Dietzen, Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Jennifer Esposito, Duane Henry, Maria Bello, Diona Reasonover, Katrina Law, and Gary Cole.

NCIS Season 21 Release Date

The first season of the show was released on September 23, 2003, and consisted of 23 episodes. It received positive response from critics and audiences and considering that, the makers have renewed the show for several seasons and the latest season is still ongoing.

In February 2023, the makers have renewed NCIS for a 21st season. Although there is no specific release date available at this moment, we can expect it to come out in 2024.
