Netflix’s new series Cursed: Release date, Trailer and Trivia

Cursed, which is one of Netflix’s latest production will be premiering on Friday, 12th July. The series is based on the novel of the same name co-written by Thomas Wheeler and Frank Miller. It is based in a dystopian Arthurian period and is a lot along the lines of “The Witcher” series and “Game of Thrones“.

The show which casts Katherine Langford, who gained fame for playing Hannah Baker in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. Langford acquired her success and fanbase from playing Baker, a teen who commits suicide. The critiques and Langfords fans are eagerly waiting to see her play the role of an Arthurian female warrior, a role which is the complete opposite of the one which got her famous.

Who all will we be seeing in the show?

The transition from playing a sweet innocent girl to a fierce and undaunting warrior, Katherine’s fans are excited to see her return to Netflix. Langford plays Nimue, Devon Terrell plays Arthur, and Gustaf Skarsgård plays Merlin, a legendary wizard in Arthurian folklore. The supporting cast is rounded out by Peter Mullan, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Daniel Sharman, and Sebastian Armesto.

How many episodes will the series have?

We can’t wait to introduce them to audiences around the world.”

What can the audience expect?

Katherine in an interview for Netflix opened about how the show will have different interpretations for different individuals. She talked about the complexity of her role and how this upcoming series of fantasy-drama genre will be perceived by the young audience. How her character would inspire young girls around the world. Since the story is based in an Arthurian era, there will be gruesome scenes, brutality, and a certain raw element to it.

The readers of the novel are themselves in for a surprise, even though the scriptwriting is done under the supervision of the authors. They can only add so much of the novel in 10 episodes. What the fans await is the description and characterization of the novel. They await the novel to be turned into a Tv-series, thus, bringing their imagination to life.

However, the majority of novels turned into movies or tv-series, fail to do justice to the book. The most common complaint of the readers is that the directors were unable to bring the novel to life. The movies or shows lack the vividness and the nitty-gritty of the novels. The fans of the Cursed fear that this could be the case for their favorite novel as well.

The producers at Netflix however, promise that their project will be a huge success and would garner the interest of the audience from all age groups. According to sources, the cast and crew of the Cursed have tirelessly worked and are thrilled to share their efforts with the world. The crew has left no stone unturned to bring the novel to life.
