Netflix’s Space Force: The trailer and much more

Steve Carell who played the iconic character of “Michael Scott” in “The Office” is coming up with his own co-creation “Space Force”. The fans of both Michael Scott and The Office are in for a treat. Space Force is another workplace comedy series that centers on a group of people tasked with establishing the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces, the United States Space Force.

The cast of Space Force

The Space Force will be starring Steve Carell himself as General Mark R. Naird, John Malkovich as Dr. Adrian Mallory, Space Force scientist and a parody of Dr. Strangelove, Ben Schwartz as F. Tony Scarapiducci, Secretary of the Air Force, Diana Silvers as Erin Naird and Twany Newsome as Angela Ali. Interestingly, TV Show Friends’ fame Lisa Kudrow to also join the cast.

What’s the show about?

Imagine Michael Scott in a workplace only a four-star general instead of a regional manager and a space station instead of Dunder Mifflin and free rein to develop a program that would give the United States complete dominance over space with a team of scientists and astronauts. Yes, we are not kidding at all. To get more clarity on it, do watch the trailer below. The name Space Force comes after Trump’s new military branch of the same name. Although, his name is not used in any communication till now.

“We realized that the story had beautiful visuals and a mythic quality, and it echoed some of America’s best moments,” Space Force co-creator Greg Daniels said in a press release. “It had a lot of heroism and yet it also had a strong satirical element. Suddenly everybody has realized that there are riches to be had on the moon, and we’ve got to stake our claim. It feels like there’s now a scramble to colonize space. The contrast between that and the super hopeful early days of NASA, when it was just such an achievement for all of mankind to get a person on the moon, is a good subject for satire.”

The Space Force released its first trailer on May 5 and set to release its first episode titled “Space Force” on the 29th of May.
