Netflix’s romantic reality show Too Hot To Handle is renewed for another season. The show which aired its first season in April 2020, is a reality show along the lines of ‘Love is Blind‘ and ‘Bachelor in Paradise‘. The concept of the show is to allow bachelors and bachelorettes to mingle with one another and find true love!
The creators of Too Hot To Handle, however, added a twist to their show. Instead of allowing the contestants to mingle with one another, they prohibited physical intimacy on the show. The show is based in a villa in Mexico, which essentially provides the contestants with a romantic environment which is isolated from the world.

The basic idea of offering them this luxurious villa and amenities is to establish a romantic vibe which allows them to comfortably get to know people. Unlike the other reality dating shows, Too Hot To Handle wanted its contestants to refrain from being physical on screen and wanted them to work on a genuine emotional connection.
Too many reality dating shows have been created in the past and all have followed the same generic theme with few add on’s here and there. So to make their show more interesting not only for the audience but for those who are participating as well, the creators stressed on the formation of a pure and healthy relationship based on intellect and emotional connection.
This ideology actually benefitted the contestants and most of them got a lot of clarity about their take and perspective on relationships and love itself. Many of them left the show with a healthy outlook towards love and finding their soulmate. Many formed friendships on the show which says tons about the character development the people had on the show.
Few of the contestants actually found true love based on real and pure interaction. The contestants were surprised by the creators on air when they were told that physical intimacy is off the table. Few of the contestants were disappointed initially but later realised the healthy and
challenging environment that was set for them.
The creators when interviewed said the same thing that they wanted to challenge the youth of this tech-savvy generation. It is easy to make a connection based on physical attraction and interaction but these sort of relationships don’t last long as there is no connection of the mind, soul and heart. What they wanted to offer was a chance to the contestants to prove themselves that they can resist the lust and physical attraction.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed the dates for the release of season 2 but has said that there will be a season 2. The creators haven’t shared their views on social media or with the press. The selection process is yet to be disclosed, they will be as soon as Netflix confirms the date for season 2.
The only drawback for the contestants of season 2 is that they will be aware of the no physical intimacy rule. The season 1 contestants were not aware of this rule and it was a surprise to them. This will not be the case for future applicants unless the creators of the show have a list of new rules which they will be adding in every progressing season.
