New Game Competition Reality shows ‘Game On’ and ‘Tough As Nails’ will Release on Global

The global TV network is determined to load up your summer with two new game competition reality shows ‘Game On’ and ‘Tough As Nails’. These shows will feature everyday people, professional athletes, and celebrities. Dwayne Johnson, a.ka. The Rock’s superhit heavyweight sports show ‘The Titan Games’ will also join the newcomers for the second season.

“Since the advent of social distancing in mid-March, we’ve seen a 28% increase in Global’s total audience versus earlier this year, powered by both Global News and our dynamic primetime lineup of scripted and reality series. And we’re thrilled to add even more muscle to the schedule with these new competition series,” Troy Reeb, EVP Broadcast Networks, Corus Entertainment, said during an official announcement. “More than ever, Canadians are connecting with Corus networks, whether through TV, online or streaming apps,” he added.

Game On!

This new sports and comedy entertainment show will be hosted by the famous Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key. Keegan-Michael Key is a well-known actor, writer, and creator. The show will be equally divided between comedy and games. Two teams consisting of three people each will compete against each other. Tennis star and businesswoman Venus Williams and Super Bowl fame Rob Gronkowski will be the team captains. These captains will be accompanied by the hilarious comedian’s Bobby Lee and Ian Karmel on either side. Several other prominent people from the world of sports, comedy, and entertainment will feature on the show in different Episodes.

The show will premiere on 27^th May at 8 PM ET. New episodes will air at 8 PM ET every Wednesday on Global.

Tough As Nails

Later on, in summer, a new competition reality series Tough As Nails will release in July. Show’s producer Phil Keoghan has previously been the producer of Emmy Award Winner reality show The Amazing Race. Louise Keoghan will be the production partner. The show will be hosted by Phil himself. The participants will be everyday hardworking people who will combat each other on several life skills. The show will test their strength, endurance, and mental stamina.

The show will begin on 8^th July at 9 PM ET. New episodes will release every Wednesday at the same time.

Dwayne Johnson’s show ‘The Titan Games’ will return for season 2 from 25th May every Monday at 8 PM ET.
