No Straight Roads is a forthcoming adventure game created by Malaysia’s independent studio Metronomik and distributed by Sold Out Ltd. It focuses on an indie rock duo that fights the EDM empire to free Vinyl City from its control with the power of rock. The game combat includes listening to sound, recognizing when the opponent is attacking and when to hit.
Release Date
It is expected to be launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows in Japan on August 27, 2020, and worldwide on August 25, 2020, via the Epic Games Store.
Gameplay
For No Straight Roads, the player assumes charge of either Mayday or Zuke, but they can turn to a single-player at any point. The game uses a rhythm-based fighting system, where the player can switch easily without having to follow the beat, but also has to listen to the soundtrack and look out for the audible cues so both enemies attack, stave off attacks, and strike back.
These are music sounds that can be captured and used by bullets. The game uses a skill tree-based system to boost the player’s skills and further develop the player. All player characters, Mayday and Zuke fight differently due to their various specializations, Mayday can swing her guitar as an offensive weapon. Each will play music in the area to take control of items next to them. The objective is to crash and hijack the NSR artist’s concert, beat them, and take over their district and go on to the next one.
