OnePlus 6T Launch

OnePlus was all geared up for its global launch event at New York on 30th of October where the OnePlus 6T was ought to be unveiled, followed by the Indian launch on the same day. Now, out of a sudden, the company has announced a change in the official launch date of the device.

The OnePlus 6T launch event is now preponed by a day and will be held at the same place on 29th of October. Taking this step was necessary as they didn’t want the OnePlus event to be overshadowed by Apple’s event which is scheduled in Brooklyn, NYC for the same day (30 Oct) where we expect to see the new MacBooks and iPad models.

“When we announced the launch of the OnePlus 6T on October 8, we were convinced our timing would allow us to maximize the amount of people we could reach with our message. That changed when Apple announced they would be hosting their own event on October 30,” said Pete Lau, CEO, OnePlus in a forum post.

OnePlus 6T Launch

As per the fresh reports, the OnePlus 6T launch event will now begin at 11 am on October 29, while the Indian launch event is expected to start at 8:30 pm on October 30, as per the previous schedules.

Furthermore, Pete said that they’ll cover any costs incurred to the invitees due to this change of plan and any other arrangements if required will be handled by the company itself such as paying to switch flights or change hotel reservations, the OnePlus team will be getting in touch with all ticket owners individually to figure things out which is a good move in my opinion.

This shows us that OnePlus still sees itself as a small company in front of the giant Apple and hence it didn’t want their event to be affected by the Apple’s event which definitely had relatively more priority in everyone’s eyes. Stay tuned for the event.
