OnePlus 6T launched with 10GB RAM, Warp Charge 30 and Papaya Orange theme

Chinese manufacturer OnePlus today launched the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition at an event in McLaren headquarters. The device that comes with the tag “Salute to Speed” is the next Special Edition after the launch of the Thunder Purple color variant recently. The company announced its collaboration with British car brand McLaren earlier this month confirming that the collaboration with McLaren is a “long-term strategic partnership’ hinting more number of McLaren OnePlus handsets in the future.

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition

The OnePlus McLaren Edition sports a Papaya Orange color which is also McLaren signature color. At the back, the McLaren carbon fiber design can be seen underneath the glass design at the rear. It comes with a 10GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage configuration which makes it the world’s first smartphone to launch globally with 10GB RAM. The device can pretty much handle anything you throw at it with ease and shoot 4K videos at 60FPS without much fuss.

The handset has an orange-black theme and is backed by the same 3,700 mAh battery from the standard variant but with a new Warp charge 30 technology that offers a day’s power within 20 minutes of charge. The company integrated a new circuit in the charger as well as on the phone and installed a new power management software that ensures smooth power supply and keeps the phone cool while charging and even when it is being used. Additionally, there are new exclusive software animations while the Warp Charge 30 power adapter comes with Papaya Orange color instead of Red. The Special Edition comes bundled with a headphone dongle, a McLaren-branded case, a piece of actual carbon fiber encased in an acrylic block along with a hardcover book that highlighting McLaren’s racing history.

The other specs remain the same as the regular variant featuring a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a top-notch, in-display fingerprint sensor and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It comes with dual rear camera setup of 20MP + 16MP and a 16MP selfie camera for selfies and video calling.

Currently, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is priced at £649 (Rs 60,000 approx) in Europe while the US price is $699. It will be available in Western Europe and North America on December 13 while China, Indian and Nordic markets will get it a while later. The Indian Launch will be held tomorrow at Richardson & Cruddas Limited building, Byculla, Mumbai at 6.00 PM.
