OnePlus 6T spotted on GeekBench, company to launch 5G devices in 2019

With a recent shift in launch date, OnePlus is all geared up to unveil its OnePlus 6T on 29th of October. Thanks to the previous leaks, reports and the recent German retailer’s listing, we now know most of the things about the device including its In-display optical Fingerprint scanner, water drop notch etc. Now, the device has appeared on GeekBench, giving us a hint about how the phone will perform.

The device carries its model number as OnePlus A6013. As expected, it is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 8GB of RAM. As far as the benchmark scores are concerned, the OnePlus 6T scores an impressive of 2,387 points in single core tests and 8,925 in multi-core tests.

While OnePlus 6T is readily arriving this week, the company has further revealed its plan for OnePlus 7. In a conference where manufacturers were announcing their future plans related to 5G, Carl Pei, OnePlus co-founder, said his team will be among the first to launch a 5G-enabled flagship, most likely to be called as OnePlus 7.

It all started when Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm, was making the announcement that least two 5G flagships are expected to arrive in 2019, after which Carl joined him and mentioned that the new 5G-enabled OnePlus phone will make its appearance H1 2019. It will rely on the Snapdragon X50 modem with the downsized QTM052 mmWave antenna module as announced at the conference.

This might hamper a few of potential OnePlus 6T buyers given that the technology will face a major upgrade next year so it might be a worthy option to wait for OnePlus 7 if you already have a phone with which you can cope with.

As reported, the OnePlus 6T will come with a 6.40-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch and an optical Fingerprint scanner under it. Further, as mentioned, it will be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC in 6/8GB RAM and 64/128/256GB storage variants. Pricing too is expected to stay the same (as OnePlus 6) for India. Given that the launch is barely 3 days ahead, let us wait to see what the Chinese giant is actually planning for.
