OnePlus could launch Truly Wireless Earbuds alongside OnePlus 7

Published

on

OnePlus 7 is just a couple of months away from launch. We already know how it looks like thanks to the 3D renders and the 360-degree video that was leaked last week. Now, OnePlus CEO elaborating on the company’s history of the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack hints that OnePlus may launch true wireless earbuds alongside the flagship smartphone this year.

Lau says that it looks to ‘polish’ its wireless headset experience indicating an upgrade. However, this is all speculation, and the company could just improve upon the OnePlus Bullets Wireless launched last year. In that case, AirPods will have to wait a bit for their OnePlus counterpart.

Pete Lau said in a Weibo post that the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack was a conscious decision. He believes that the wireless headset product line has scope for extreme improvements and it can be ‘polished’ and ‘refined’. The current product is perfect according to him, but it can be even more extreme. His words clearly hint that the company is looking to elevate its wireless audio experience with a new product. The product may be true wireless earbuds along with the lines of the Apple AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus Bullets Wireless alongside the OnePlus 6. Now the company may look to elevate its wireless headset product line. Lao also left his post open-ended, asking his followers and OnePlus fans for new suggestions on new features. If OnePlus is developing an Apple AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds competitor, it will likely be cheaper.

OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 7 around May-June. The company hasn’t started teasing the phone. The expected price of the handset is around Rs 35,000-Rs 40,000. Other features include triple camera setup, pop-up selfie camera, and SD 855 chipset.
