OnePlus rolls out OxygenOS 9.0.6 for OnePlus 6T

OnePlus launched their latest flagship OnePlus 6T last month in India. Today the Chinese manufacturer has started rolling out the latest OxygenOS update for the smartphone. The OxygenOS 9.0.6 comes with a bunch of features like optimising image processing on the smartphone, improving the unlocking experience and bug fixes. The update comes days after the last update, OxygenOS 9.0.5 that brought improvements in the in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The company highlighted in a post forum that the latest update OxygenOS 9.0.6 for the OnePlus 6T improves unlocking experience which suggests the build-in display fingerprint sensor has got some new upgrades. As for optimising image processing, the camera shots will look better than before.

The update comes in a Over-the-Air (OTA) form and brings new improvements like standby power consumption. Additionally, it fixes an issue that occurred while adding an APN on Verizon network and a bug that was restricting updates from Google Play. The formal changelog shows some general bug fixes and improvements in performance of the device.

If you own a OnePlus 6T smartphone, you can check the availability of the update by going to Settings > System Update. It is advised that you charge your battery to 50% and back your data to avoid any data loss.

Like other previous OxygenOS updates, the newest OxygenOS 9.0.6 comes as an “incremental rollout” meaning it will first reach a limited number of users and will have a wider rollout in the next couple of days. The company says the user feedback has been useful in bringing new optimisations and improvements.

The company has also launched a new Thunder Purple variant of the device featuring a gradient finish which is available only in the 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage configuration that is priced at Rs 41,999. The other specs remain the same with SD 845, 20MP + 16MP rear camera and running on Android 9 Pie.
