OPPO K1 is now the most affordable smartphone with a in-display fingerprint sensor

OPPO has finally launched the mysterious device in the Indian market that it has been teasing for weeks. Dubbed as the OPPO K1, it is the most affordable smartphone with an in-screen fingerprint smartphone.

The latest OPPO K-series smartphone has a familiar look to other OPPO smartphone like OPPO F9 Pro and OPPO A7. Like this phone, it flaunts a waterdrop display with a glossy rear panel coupled with horizontal dual rear cameras. Yet, the OPPO K1 feels more premium due to its gorgeous AMOLED display and curved glass-like 3D panel.

The OPPO K1 features a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. It boasts more than 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio and protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The device is not glass material but looks premium enough due to its 3D injection moulding process that makes it glisten and shine as lights hit the surface.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 powers the device paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. On the rear it sports a dual camera setup of a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 2MP secondary sensor. The cameras come with AI features like detecting scenes and automatically adjust setting accordingly.  It houses a 25MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture on the notch for selfies and video calling.

The dual-SIM handset runs on ColorOS 5.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and backed by a 3,600 mAh battery. There is no Quick Charge support and is charged at regular 10W through a microUSB port. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-FI 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and more.

The OPPO K1 costs Rs 16,990 which makes it the only smartphone under 20K with in-screen fingerprint sensor. The phone has four colors but India will get only two- the Gradient Van Gough Blue and Piano Black. It will go on sale in Flipkart on February 12 at noon and will come with some incentives, discounts from certain banks and buyback options.
