Outer Banks: Will Netflix give us a season 2?

Outer Banks, the hit teenage drama series with subtle references on the ill-effects of capitalist society has already made a mark in the eyes of its audiences. The first installment of the series premiered on Netflix in April 2020. The teenage sect lauded it. The second season is much awaited because the first season ended on a cliffhanger.

Has it been renewed and what about the dates?

No, unfortunately, Netflix has not yet renewed the series for season 2, and we do not have any dates yet. But, we have several sources that confirm for a new season.

“Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons, We’ve sort of long-arced it out pretty far. I’m just hoping that we get a chance to actually tell those stories,” said Jonas Pate, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

What’ll be the cast of season 2 and how do they react to the idea?

Chase Stokes as John B, Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey as Kiara “Kie”, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and all the main cast members are going to stay in the show as the plot requires all of them, additionally, new members can be added.

“There’s gonna be a whole new dynamic. How do you go about life without your best friend? I think it’s going to be rough on everyone, And we’re going to have to come together and take care of each other now more than ever. But revenge is going to be on all of our minds.” told Madison Bailey to “Seventeen”, when asked about season 2.

“I’m interested to see if we do move forward, potentially with the second season, where the Pogues relationship is going to be without John B, are they going to stick together as a family? Are they going to separate because of it? Is that relationship going to stick or are they going to be afraid? It’s something interesting to explore.” said Jonathan Daviss about the new installment.
Rudy Pankow, in an exclusive interview with seventeen, said –“Justice is going to be served, but it’s just a matter of who does it. I think I really want to see him struggle with coming to terms with the fact that his best friend is gone, and what’s the point in trying any more? I think that’s something that I want to see. And, if that doesn’t happen, that’s okay. But I think that would be a great arc for JJ and the Pogues to fall apart until we know John B is back.”After these vibrant reactions from the cast members, we hope that Netflix brings the new installment as soon as possible.

What’s the show about?

The show is created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. The show follows a group (namely Pogues) of teenagers from the outer banks of North Carolina, who are trying to solve the mystery behind the death of the father of John.B, the ringleader. In their quest, they find out about a treasure associated with the father. In order to find about the death and the treasure, the Pogues must overcome several obstacles such as love, hate, crime, drugs, and a wealthy rival gang called “Kooks”.
