Pennyworth is an American crime drama television series based on characters published in the DC Comics. The main character, Alfred Pennyworth, is based on the Batman comics character Alfred Pennyworth and details his past before he became a butler and worked with Bruce Wayne.

Pennyworth: Cast and Plot
The show explores the past of the Wayne family Butler, very lovingly known by Batman fans as Alfred. He is an ex British SAS soldier who decides to create his own security company in an alternate London. Just to clarify, this is the parallel universe where Gotham City exists (similar to New York City) and London exists too, just with a few tweaks.
This particular London has aspects of 1950s and 1960s London as well as conducts public executions over television and other such atrocities. Yikes! Due to Alfred’s work and credentials, he soon manages to make himself a target of the Raven Society that is planning to overthrow the British government.
In an order to defeat them, Alfred joins the No Name League, a society with American agents such as Thomas Wayne and Martha Kane, both of whom are the parents of Bruce Wayne, or Batman. See the connections here?
Jack Bannon plays Alfred Pennyworth while Ben Aldridge plays Thomas Wayne, a young and wealthy American forensic accountant and doctor who is also secretly a member of the CIA. Dorothea Atkinson plays Alfred’s mother, Mary. Emma Paetz plays Martha Kane, the future Bruce Wayne’s mother. She has a crush on Alfred and is good friends with Thomas.
