Developed by Arcane Kids, Perfect Stride is a semi-unreleased unfinished indie skateboarding video game that was released in alpha form in 2013. The concept for Perfect Stride was inspired by developer and co-creator Ben Esposito’s early attempts to modify Half-Life 2, in which he mistakenly produced an unorthodox style of control that he felt would be interesting as a game of its own.

Perfect Stride Gameplay
Perfect Stride will focus mainly on skateboarding and players can perform a lot of tricks along with speaking to players while playing the game. The main premise will be set in an alternate universe where Tony Hawk, the main character, did not land the 900 during the X Games V held in 1999. However, he is still popular and this leads to a rise in power of the immortal time wizard who can use his powers and prevent the death of anyone. The main goal of the player will be to travel throughout all the islands located inside the dystopian environment of the game. The gamer needs to discover the last thing that exists on Earth which would contribute to finishing off the Time Wizard and ending the troubles.
The game is said to be a representation of the “dying web’ and that all the pieces of architecture are perfect representations of personal web pages. The game will be inspired by the elements of first-person shooting games and gamers can simply use the computer mouse to utilize a control scheme where the player needs to click the left and right buttons so that there could be more force and move the mouse in a particular direction to get more momentum. There is a rewind feature where players can also correct their mistakes and work on the development of the gameplay. The rewind gimmick is linked to the plot of the game and time gets frozen when they are supposed to and they are forced to rewind out of everything.
Perfect Stride Release Date
The official release date for Perfect Stride is not confirmed yet. The early access alpha version of the game was released to the backers of the Kickstarter campaign during the LA Game Space which was held in August 2013. The build was said to be the final for the category of Excellence in Visual Arts during the Independent Games Festival held in 2014. It was released for free through the Internet Archive after LA Game Space stopped its operations in 2018.
