Pieces of Her: Release Date, Plot and more!

Streaming service Netflix is bringing another thriller drama series, Pieces of Her. Created by Charlotte Stoudt, it is based on the novel of the same name by Karin Slaughter.

The series was greenlit by Netflix in February 2019 for an eight-episode first season. Apart from being the creator, Stoudt is also the writer and showrunner of the series. Minkie Spiro has been bought in as the director for all episodes of the first season.

Pieces of Her: Release Date and Plot

Netflix announced on January 25, 2022 that the first season of the show would premiere on March 4, 2022. It will consist of eight episodes.

Coming to the plot, it will follow the story of Andrea caught in a dangerous mass shooting at a local diner. She then witnesses her mother Laura easily eliminating her threat. While Andrea starts to unravel her mother’s actions on the day, her perspective on their familial relationship takes a new turn.

However, figures from her mother’s past reappear and she is forced to escape. She then tries to piece together the remnants of truth buried by her mother a long time ago.

Pieces of Her: Cast and Trailer

Toni Collette and Bella Heathcore were cast in the lead roles in February 2020. David Wenham was then cast in the following month.

Jessica Barden, Joe Dempsie, Jacob Scipio and Omari Hardwick then joined the cast in recurring roles back in February 2021. Nicholas Burton and Aaron Jeffrey were then cast in the show in April 2021.

Principal photography for the show was expected to start on March 16, 2020, although it was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
