Pirates of the Caribbean 6: Is it on its way with Johnny Depp and Karen Gillan?

From weeks and weeks, we have been hearing about the return of Pirates of the Caribbean. The new rumor that this week has given us is that Johnny Depp who plays the role of Captain Jack Sparrow could reprise his role in some capacity.
The other interesting thing is that the reboot will be a soft one, like “Bumblebee” (the Transformers reboot). Also, and there is no official news yet, but we’ve come to hear that the sixth installation will take place along the same cinematic universe.

Hearing from different people that PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN could be a “soft reboot,” like BUMBLEBEE. So, Sparrow could possibly be involved, I don’t if that means starring role or cameo, or just a film in the same universe.

More than a week ago, the news circulating regarding the sixth installment was that Jack Sparrow won’t be back, partly because the character now had no girth and the franchise had already exploited much of the Jack Sparrow legion, and partly because of the scandalous news that Johnny Depp hit his wife (Amber Heard), this news had a disastrous impact on the image of Depp especially among the teenage fans and rightly so, the franchise feared that bringing Depp back would be a mistake and will have a negative effect on the sales of the movie.

In 2003, the first film of the series was released which was a hit and was praised by the critics, shortly after that a series was announced. In 2006 the next film in the series was released which broke the box office records. Among the five films in the series, two have crossed the one billion mark, and all have been huge box office successes. Before the release of “On Strangers Tides”, it was announced that fifth and sixth installments will be shot simultaneously, but only the fifth part came out. In 2017, the producers announced that a sixth part as well in the making. In 2020, rumors have been spreading that Karen Gillan has been selected for playing the lead role in the film.

Disney, back in 2018, had to close the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park because it made news when they featured a lady with red hairs auctioning off brides to drunken pirates. The lady was called “Redd”. However, this scene became a cult favorite among Disney fans and the franchise decided to make a movie on her. Karen Gillan is also a favorite among fans for the role “Redd” as her striking red hairs and active actionability with great acting skills have been lauded worldwide.
