Pose Season 3 – Interesting new updates and more details!

Pose is a drama television series on FX. The series focuses on New York City’s African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming ballroom culture scene during the 1980s and 90s. Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals are the creators of Pose. The first season of Pose premiered on FX on June 3, 2018. The second season premiered on June 11, 2019. The series was also renewed for a third season after just a few days of the premiere of the second season.

Pose is highly critically acclaimed and has been nominated for a number of awards as well, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama for Billy Porter. Billy Porter won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama Series in 2019, and became the the first openly gay black man to be nominated for and win in an Emmy lead acting category.

Recent Updates about Season 3 of Pose

The filming of the third season of Pose had already begun in March 2020, but was suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The shooting is expected to resume in October, and will require a lot of changes to the scripts and filming sequences to mitigate the risks of the coronavirus. Co-creator of the show Steven Canals said this on how they plan to go about filming the third season-

“Things like kissing—we will likely forgo those moments. The place on our show where the biggest impact will be felt will be the ball scenes: Those scenes have 125 to 150 background actors. That’s tricky, because that’s such an important and critical part of our show and the narrative. We’re just, only now, having conversations of ‘Is there a world where we forgo these things?’”

Billy Porter, who plays Pray Tell, will be making his directorial debut in season 3. Another new thing that season 3 of Pose might feature is the House of Evangelista. Season 3 of Pose will be set in the year 1994. So far, no release date has been announced for the third season of Pose, but we can expect it to release some time in the summer of 2021.
