What are the Renewal Updates of Prodigal Son?

Talking about the future that is the renewal of the crime thriller series, there have been made some announcements about it.

Fox is the network channel for the series. And it recently spilled the beans about the season 2 of the same. So, the question is, Whether it is happening or not? Well, to excite you more, we want to tell you that season 2 of Prodigal Son is indeed happening.

The renewal announcement has been made by the Fox’s President of Entertainment, Michael Thorn.

“From the moment Prodigal Son released, and have been fascinated by the astounding performances turned in by Tom Payne and Micheal Sheen, as they go head-to-head in one of the most uncommon family relationships on television.” –  While talking about it, Thron, lauded the cast members for their fantastic performances.

Release Date

As now we all know the series has been renewed for its second season. So, we are free to scream in excitement.

However, it looks like the fans have to wait some more to know the exact release date for the show. As the release date hasn’t been announced yet. But, the series is still in the happening.

Listening to the good news about season 2, fans indeed are jubilant.

Nevertheless, Thron, the President of Entertainment, might have referred to the release date of the show.

“We’re happy to have Prodigal Son return for our 2020-2021 slate.” – So, does that mean Prodigal Son will be back in 2020-2021? Well, we are hoping for that to happen as well.

Cast

These stars will be back for season 2:

First will certainly be the father-son duo, which will be played by Tom Payne and Michael Sheen, as Malcolm and Dr. Martin Whitly.

Followed by them will be Bellamy Young as Jessica Whitly, Lou Diamond Phillips as Gil Arroyo, and Halston Sage s Ainsley Whitly.

Along with them, there will also be, Aurora Perrineau as Det. Dani Powell, Frank Harts as Det. JT Tarmel, and Keika Agena as Dr. Edrisa Tanaka.

Plot

The first season made us stick to our screens until the end. It showed us the difficult relationship between the estranged father and a son, an NYPD officer. He was forced to join hands with his father for a case that he wasn’t able to solve on his own.

Hence, he visits his father in the imprisonment he was in for the murder of people when he was surgent. When season one came to an end, it shows that the son is turning like his father. And Malcolm doesn’t want it to happen.

Now, in season 2, we might be able to see the same plot to be continuing. We might see Malcolm turning into something else and now it’s a huge trouble and struggle for his wife.
