Ramy is an American comedy-drama streaming television series. The show premiered on April 19, 2019, on Hulu. In May 2019, the production renewed this series for a second season, which premiered on May 29, 2020. This show stars Ramy Youssef as the titular character with Mahershala Ali joining the cast in a recurring role for the second season.

Ramy, the show, has received multiple positive reviews from the audience.  The show’s portrayal of American Muslims is praised in large masses. This is because most Western pop culture depictions are “usually as the bad guys”. In January 2020, Youssef was awarded the Golden Globe Award.  It was for his role in the show as the Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. Youssef was also nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series as well as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

He becomes caught between a Muslim community that thinks life is a moral test and a millennial generation that believes life has no consequences. Through it all, he’s still trying to do the things that most 20-somethings do, like a date. He is essentially a guy who is torn between praying on Fridays and going to parties on Friday nights. Which side will win out in this seemingly endless internal battle?” 

WHAT IS THE CAST FOR RAMY?

The show sees is Ramy Youssef as Ramy Hassan who is basically the protagonist of the series. We also see Mohammed Amer in the role of Mo, Ramy’s friend who owns a diner. Hiam Abbass plays the role of Maysa Hassan, Ramy’s mother. Dave Merheje acts as Ahmed who is Ramy’s friend and a doctor.

WHEN IS SEASON 3 OF RAMY RELEASING?

Hulu renewed this show for another season. However, the current pandemic has put the production for this show on hold. The show is expected to film while following all the pandemic precautions and safety procedure. There is no release date as of now on the air date for this show. Hulu mentioned in an interview that all the 10 episodes of the show will air at once.
