During the of their next budget contender i.e. the Realme 2, the company announced that the Realme 2 Pro will be announced later in September, which will truly succeed the Realme 1 while the aforementioned was just an incremental approach. Now, given that the launch month is here, they have officially confirmed the launch date of the device in the press invites for the same.
The press invites sent by Realme India reads out “We are back” and mentions “2 SurPrise You” with the bold text being highlighted in red colour hinting towards 2 Pro, just like the way they did during the Realme 2 launch. The invite further confirms the launch date of the 26th and 27th of September.
The Realme 2 for sure didn’t go as well as the Realme 1, due to the underpowered Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC which falls short of the Mediatek Helio P60 on the latter. With that being said, the Realme 2 Pro may hit back if priced correctly, which we think will.
As per as the specifications are concerned, the Realme 2 Pro is rumoured to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage option. The device is expected to bear a notched display reminiscent of the Realme 2 but with a higher resolution.
Moreover, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Madhav Sheth confirmed in an interview with The Mobile Indian that the Realme 2 Pro will be priced more than its predecessor but will undercut the Rs. 20,000 mark.
To recall, Realme 2 came with a 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) IPS LCD panel in a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch on top. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC.
Further, it has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with a f/2.2 aperture paired along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor having an aperture of f/2.4. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 aperture lens. It available in 3/32GB and 4/64GB configurations for a starting price of Rs. 8,990/-.
Given that the Realme 2 Pro launch is the just a few weeks near, let us see what actually Realme plans to launch being an independent brand, or if they rebrand some other Oppo phone like they did in past. Stay tuned.
