Realme today launched the Realme 5 series in India. The series consists of the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. They are the company’s first smartphones with a quad-camera setup. Apart from the two smartphones, the Realme Buds 2 and Realme XT were also announced at the event.
Realme 5 Pro specifications
The Realme 5 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch display with an FHD+ resolution and has a waterdrop notch. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset. The phone comes in three variants with 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB configuration.
The device flaunts a quad-camera setup at the rear. It includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor + 8MP secondary sensor with a 119-degree field-of-view wide-angle + 2MP depth-sensing telephoto lens and a 2MP Super Macro lens. The fourth sensor comes with a “microscopic” focal length that is capable of taking images as close as 4cm from the lens. On the front, there is a 16MP placed on the waterdrop notch.
The handset runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. It draws power from a 4,000 mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It is available in Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue color options.
Realme 5 specifications
The Realme 5 packs a 6.5-inch HD+ display and houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. It also comes in three variants of 3GB + 32GB, 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB configuration with further expandable options with a microSD card.
The device has the same quad-camera setup at the back as the “Pro” model except with the primary sensor, which is of 12MP. The front offers a 13MP camera. It runs ColorOS 6.0 on top of Android 9 Pie. All this is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery. It is available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple hues color options.
Price and Specifications
The Realme 5 Pro pricing starts at Rs 13,999 for the base variant with 4/64GB configuration. The 6/64GB and 8/128GB comes at a price tag of Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999 respectively. The pre-orders start at 12 PM on August 21 on Flipkart and Realme official site with sales starting on August 27. As for the Realme 5 the 3/32GB, 4/64GB and 4/128GB variants are priced at Rs 9,999, Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. The pre-orders will start from August 28 at 12MP while the sales start September 4. The company assured that the handsets will be available through offline markets as well.
Launch offers include Rs 2,000 cashback on Paytm UPI payments. Purchases made from Realme official site will get the buyers Paytm First membership worth Rs 750 and benefits up to Rs 20,000. Flipkart customers will get no-cost EMI up to 6 months while Jio users will receive benefits worth Rs 7,000.
