Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7 back in April this year. Fast forward four months, the leaks and speculations around Redmi 8 are here! Recently, the Redmi 8 was spotted on the website of the Chinese regulator TENAA with the model number M1908C3IC.
According to the listing, the phone will come with a dual rear camera arrangement and a waterdrop display notch which Xiaomi calls as Dot-notch display. Also, the TENAA listing reveals key specifications of the device. The specifications make this an obvious upgrade to the Redmi 7.

Redmi 8 Specifications and Features
According to the listing, the device boasts a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. As mentioned earlier, the display has a Dot-notch (waterdrop notch). The device measures 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4 mm and weighs around 190 grams. As for the performance, the device is powered by an Octa-Core CPU with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. The chipset details are not disclosed in this listing but we expect this to come with either MediaTek Helio P60 or company’s favorite Snapdragon 625.

The device will be available in three variants. The lower variant is packed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The mid variant comprises 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The device will also be available in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant too. Luckily, the company included a microSD card slot and the memory can be expanded up to 512 GB. As for the optics, the device features a dual rear camera setup where the primary unit is a 12 MP sensor and the secondary unit is an 8 MP sensor. All this is backed by a mammoth 5000 mAh battery.
This is not the first time we are seeing the Redmi M1908C3IC, the same model was previously spotted on 3C’s. But in 3C’s this device is spotted along with another Redmi device with model M1908C3IE.
