Redmi Note 7

Last week, Redmi India shared a photo of senior Xiaomi executives Lei Jun and Manu Kumar Jain with the new Redmi Note 7. The tweet said the “48MP head-turner is arriving soon”. A new report from 91mobiles claims that smartphone will arrive in India on February 12.

The teaser image shows the silhouette of the phone with the text “Apna Time Ayega’. The invitation also mentions ‘Redmi Smartphone Launch’ which makes it safe to assume it will releasing the Redmi Note 7 in the Indian market.

Now the folks at Mobigyaan reached out to Xiaomi for more details about the launch. The company clarified that no invites have been sent by them to the media for the launch of the Redmi Note 7 in India on February 12. The invitation circulating online is a fake and there is no Redmi launch on that date.

However, 91mobiles remains firm on its claim saying a Mi Home store manager confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 will indeed launch in India on February 12. Furthermore, the manager told that the brand may also introduce one or two additional products alongside the new Redmi phone, though it’s uncertain if they are smartphones or some other accessories.

The Redmi Note 7 is the first device from the Chinese brand with a 48MP camera. It features a 6.3-inch display with a waterdrop notch. The display has a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 paired with an Adreno 512. It is available with 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. The rear sports a 48MP + 5MP camera configuration while the front offers an AI-powered 13MP camera sensor. It runs on MIUI based on Android 9.0 Pie and backed by a 4,000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi has already started its Redmi 7 Pro marketing with the CEO of Redmi brand Lu Weibing posting a poll on Weibo asking the two most important upgrades on the Redmi 7 Pro. The company previously posted a teaser image confirming it will sport a 48MP camera with an IMX586 sensor unlike the Samsung’s one on the Redmi Note 7.

Currently, there is no official launch date but Xiaomi may launch the Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro at the end of this month in India.
