With the launch of the Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi has created waves in the smartphone market. The Chinese manufacturer now plans to release a Pro version of the smartphone. The Redmi Note 7 Pro will be arriving sometime in February as per the initial announcement by the brand.
The new information comes from a Weibo post revealing key specs about the device. It sports the same 48MP camera like the regular Note 7. The Pro will have a Sony IMX 587 sensor while the Note 7’s camera has Samsung ISOCELL bright GM1 sensor. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset.
The SD 675 will be slightly powerful than the SD 710 but to keep the price in check, Qualcomm embedded it will a slower GPU, less capable ISP, and 11nm cost-effective manufacturing process. The handset price will probably go to fall between CNY 1,399 – CNY 1,499 range which translates to Rs 14,500 – Rs 15,000 approximately. At this price, it will be competing against the likes of mid-range handsets like Honor 10 Lite, Honor View 10 and Poco F1.
Currently, there is not much information about the specs of the handset. Redmi Note 7 camera with 3/32GB, 4/64GB and 6/64GB configuration. Considering it a pro version, it might go with the 6/128GB and 8/256GB configuration. The battery will likely be same at 4,000 mAh with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.
Xiaomi is to give an official launch date but we can expect a teaser soon. As for international markets, Redmi Note 7 is yet to make an appearance. So, we can expect a slight delay from the Pro version. There is also the possibility of both the handsets launching together on the same date.
