Relic: Plot and Cast
Mother Kay and her daughter Sam find that their mother/grandmother Edna is missing. They decide to go on a trip to their old family home to find out what happened to her. They find the house locked from the inside and what they find inside completely shocks them.
Most of the furniture is covered with Post-It notes while the upstairs wall is covered with a substance that looks a lot like black mould. The two experience creaking noises continuously while Kay has nightmares about a rotting corpse inside an old shack somewhere in the woods.
A day after they arrive, Kay and Sam wake up to find Edna returned but having no memories about her disappearance. She is found to have a large bruise on her chest but is otherwise mentally and physically fine. Kay plans to send Edna to a retirement home soon.
That night Edna sleepwalks and insists that there is something alive under her bed. When Kay checks the bed, she sees something breathing but becomes distracted before she can check it out. Edna starts acting violently against Sam and eats up all photographs. Soon, the house becomes one of horrors while Edna starts to rot away, while still being alive!
