Rising of the shield hero Season 2 awaits release!

The heroic saga of love, remorse, pain, treachery, butchering, and war is all set to come back with a season 2. Rising of the shield hero which encompasses all the imageries of the real world but with a hard tinge of fantasy, entertained its audience in full capacity during Season 1(2019) and news for Season 2 is already out!

The show features Naofumi Iwatani, a ‘shield hero’ who was summoned to the kingdom of Melromarc with three other saviours but was tagged weak because of his less offensive capability and lowly experience. His only friend and mate, beautiful princess Myne Melromarc, steals all his money, accuses him of sexual molestation, and betrays him. No wonder the audience relates to it so closely. Naofumi is then left in despair and pledges to take revenge from all who betrayed and hurt him.

Rising of the shield hero is originally written as a light novel by Aneko Yusagi and published by Media Factory with illustrations by Seira Minami. It was then licensed by One Peace Books. The 25 episode anime is however produced by Kinema Citrus.

Crunchyroll and Funimation have partnered to license the anime in North America.
“Crunchyroll, the world’s most popular anime brand, is excited to announce that ‘The Rising of the Shield Hero’ is coming back for two more seasons,” – was announced in the Crunchyroll expo 2019.

An official synopsis of Season 2 was also announced as:-
“As Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo are getting new companions, they’re also encountering a new enemy. Learn more about the huge turtle carrying a town on its back, and how the Shield Hero and his team will be fighting along their journey.”

The dates of Season 2 and 3, sadly, have not yet been announced, but the fans are salivating over the synopsis already and cannot wait for the seasons to release.
