Riverdale Season 6: Release Date, Cast and More Updates!

Fans all across the world will be delighted to hear that after the twists and turns followed by the explosive season finale of Riverdale season 5, the show is returning for its 6^th season, in just over a month since the last episode was aired. You heard it right: after the show’s renewal on February 21, we will be picking up right where we left off. It is another new season of lies, betrayal, and secrets as we follow Archie and his friends navigate the trials and tribulations of adulthood. The new season also premieres in a new time slot: Tuesday, November 16^th at 9 pm EST.

Riverdale Season 6: Plot and Cast

Season 6 of Riverdale is slated to kick off with a five-episode event titled “Riverdale”.

It will feature a crossover with the sister show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, actress Kiernan Shipka making a crossover in her role as Sabrina Spellman. Furthermore, due to the nature of this event, a synopsis of the season as a whole hasn’t been made available. However there are certainly some developments the audience can anticipate, as mentioned next.

For the first time, our beloved characters will be featured as adults grappling to deal with the darkness of their pasts. It was revealed that Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) intends to avenge her ancestor Abigail, who was accused of witchcraft and burnt at the stake by those of Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Archie (KJ Apa), and Betty (Lili Reinhart) in the final episode of season 5. Therefore, viewers can expect the redhead to execute some elaborately plotted scheme in order to exact retribution.

We can also expect an explanation of the escape of Betty and Archie. Previously, they had found themselves trapped in a room with a bomb left by Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos). They evidently managed to make it out alive, as they appear in the trailer for season 6. Audiences may also expect a rekindling of their past relationship.

The upcoming season of Riverdale will feature the entire original cast of the show reprising their roles. Mark Consuelos is however confirmed to be leaving the cast. His character, Hiram Lodge, made his last appearance in season 5. KJ apa reprises his role as Archie Andrews and Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper. Cole Sprouse returns as Jughead Jones and so does Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge.

Riverdale Season 6: Release Date and Official Trailer

The five new episodes will drop on Netflix for viewers outside of the US on November 17^th. For the US, season 6 will be available for streaming on Netflix 8 days after the finale airs on TV.
