Riverdale Season 7: Release Date, Plot and more!

Developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale is a teen drama television series based on the characters of Archie Comics. Roberto is also the executive producer alongside Jon Goldwater, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti and Michael Grassi.

The first season of the series premiered on January 26, 2017 followed by the second season in October the same year. The third season was released on October 10, 2018 and the fourth on October 9, 2019. The fifth season premiered on January 20, 2021 followed by the sixth on November 16, 2021. The series has received positive reviews and considering that, the makers have renewed it for a seventh season.

Riverdale Plot and Cast

The sixth season of Riverdale changed its theme into the supernatural as the crossover event with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was the talk of the town as Season 5 came to close on a high note of witches and witch hunters.

Season 6 began with a fantastical twist as Archie got his heart ripped out, the town of Riverdale joined the cult and the devil paid them a visit. The latest season would end on July 31, 2022 and the events of the upcoming season will be dependent on what happens towards the end of Season 6.

Coming to the cast, the leads of the first six seasons should come back to reprise their roles. This includes KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Madchen Amick and Erinn Westbrook.

As mentioned earlier, Riverdale Season 6 will end on July 2022. Meanwhile, the makers have already confirmed that the seventh season would premiere sometime in 2023.

The number of episodes for the upcoming season has not been revealed yet since it has been different in the first six seasons. The series is distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution.
