The game will be published by Electronic Arts under the EA Originals initiative. It was released on 14 July 2020 with cross-platform play available for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One.
Gameplay
The game features 3v3 fights, in which each player will use a single rocket launcher type.
At the launch, the Rocket Arena will grant its players access to all 10 playable heroes. Such characters have 100 stages of progression. Along with the characters, the game features 10 complex maps, 22 gameplay enhancing objects, and custom games along with social and rated playlists. The game also comprises 4 competitive game modes, training, practice, and cooperative mode.
There are a variety of regular and weekly challenges, along with hundreds of cosmetic pieces, similar to Fortnite. Many of these additional modes can be unlocked in the game by in-game development. Each hero in the game has a distinctive personality which means that players never run out of time.
Like dying in many games, which can happen rapidly and punish gamers with a time-out. Players in Rocket Arena will try to avoid being knocked out, using their rockets to fire to the ground to keep alive within the bounds of the map.
The game is not a battle royale like Fortnite.
In Fortnite, teams must live to the end in a shrinking map. In Rocket Arena there are five game modes, like Rocketball, where players fire rockets at each other when attempting to score in a soccer game. Mega Rocket, where players must fight to grab giant rockets to catch them before the other team can.
