Disney surprised the fans with the great news that a new Star Wars series is underway for them and it’s created by Netflix’s Russian Doll Co-creator, Lesley Headland. According to Variety, the show will be female-centric and the timeline will be different from all the nine Star Wars movies and TV series. The setting of the series will be new apart from Clone Wars/ Galactic Empire era which is a hint that a new galaxy is under construction. No other information like plot, characters, and release date has not been announced as yet, but it’s confirmed that Lesley will be writing the series and will be the showrunner of the series. The important information regarding the series will know in the coming time.
Lesley Headland is known for directing several episodes of Netflix’s dark comedy series ‘Russian Doll’, the show’s first season was nominated for 13 Emmy Awards and ultimately won three awards. Lesley started her career with writing and directing the ‘Seven Deadly Plays’ series which included ‘Bachelorette’ and ‘Assistance’. Besides Russian Doll, she worked for ‘Black Monday’, ‘Terries’, and ‘Black Monday’.
Before the announcement of Lesley Headland working for a Star Wars series, Disney broke the news to the fans about the renewal of the third season of ‘The Mandalorian’, even though the second season is not out yet. Besides, ‘The Mandalorian’, the long-running animated series ‘Star Wars: Clone Wars’ is now a huge hit among the viewers with its latest season. Apart from this, two shows are under development which are ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Series’ prequel and an Obi-Wan Kenobi show the title of which is not known yet.
