Sam Raimi’s Evil Deas recreated by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness fan poster

Directed by Scott Derrickson and released in 2016, Doctor Strange introduced its titular character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role.

The character Doctor Strange went on to play a big role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avenger’s Endgame.

What’s happening now?

MCU being ready to take a new phase, Cumberbatch’s Strange will be back with the sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will be directed by famed and a cult filmmaker, Raimi.

As we know, before Raimi became a blockbuster director with Spider-Man, he shaped the modern horror movie with his 1980s classics The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2.

In order to pay homage, a fan artist, spdrmnkyxii, created a poster in honor of Raimi’s dual career as a horror master and crafter of exciting superhero films. It is basically a crossover that plunges Doctor Strange into the nightmare world of Evil Dead.

What to expect?

The poster is all the more relevant as the movie will reportedly skew toward horror tone-wise. News has been revealed that the second Doctor Strange film will also star Scarlet Witch actress, Elizabeth Olsen and will tie in the upcoming Disney + show WandaVision.

Fans have been apprehensive if Raimi and Campbell will be reunited on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.  What else remains to be seen is how far Raimi will bend the movie toward horror in his treatment. The sequel is reported to be having some intense horror features thus, giving it a slightly unique edge considering the previous movie. There’s obviously a lot of pressure this time with fans excited to see how the whole thing turns out to be. Fans are definitely excited about the upcoming film that is slated to release under the Marvel banner.
