Samsung Galaxy A40 to launch soon: Expected price and specifications

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30 and the Galaxy A50 in the Indian market. That being said, the South Korean giant is now gearing up for yet another launch of A-series smartphone. Dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy A40, the device has been spotted on the German version of the company’s website.

Notably, the support page has now gone live on the website for a Samsung device with model number SM-A405FN/DS. As mentioned, the same is alleged to be the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A40.

Evidently, Samsung currently has only the M-series, A-series and the flagship S-series. Going by the company’s naming scheme, the upcoming smartphone is likely to be the Galaxy A40. Moreover, the website suggests the handset’s launch is imminent in Europe.

Samsung Galaxy A40 Specifications (Expected)

The Samsung Galaxy A40 will likely be placed between the recently launched Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. Reports hint at a similar design factor with a polycarbonate body and a glasstic back.

As for the specs, the device will feature a 6.2 inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a resolution of FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels). Similar to the Galaxy A30, the device will be equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor alongside Face Unlock feature.

Moving further, the handset will reportedly get powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset built using 14nm fabrication process. The device will sport a dual camera setup in rear consisting of a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide angle sensor. On the front, there will be a 16MP single sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, it will have a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage combination. Lately, the new reports hint at the presence of Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity on the device.

Like its A-series siblings, the Galaxy A40 will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. There will be a 15W fast charging support via a USB Type-C port below. It will run OneUI on top of the latest Android 9 Pie. There is no official word on the price and availability. However, estimates suggest that the Galaxy A40 could be priced around Rs 17,999.
