After a couple of leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally launched its two new midrangers, namely Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus and Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus in India as a successor to the previously launched Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J4.

“Galaxy J series is India’s most popular smartphone series, making up almost a third of all smartphones sold in India. We are making the J series even more exciting by introducing many features such as Side fingerprint, Emotify, Install Apps on SD Card, Glass finish and striking new reflective colours. Galaxy J6+ and J4+ are just what today’s millennials are looking for in their smartphone – supreme style and unmatched performance,” said Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India.

Both the Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ sport a 6-inch True HD+ Infinity display with a resolution of 720×1480 pixels in an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and are powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with Adreno 308 GPU. The former comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage while the latter is available in 4GB and 64GB storage configuration.

Galaxy J4 Plus

The Galaxy J4+ gets a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP Selfie shooter while the latter bears a 13MP + 5MP dual camera set up at the back equipped with features like background blur and Dolly Zoom followed by the 8MP shooter at the front.

Both the devices also come with ‘Make for India’ features like the ability to install apps to SD card and Emotify feature(available in 22 Indian languages) which lets users create avatars for sharing as messages or on the social media platform. Other features include support for Dolby Atmos for surround sound and Widevine L1 certification for true HD experience in streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Furthermore, both run Samsung UX based on Android Oreo and are backed by a 3,300mAh battery. While the Galaxy J6+ has the fingerprint scanner embedded on its power button, the Galaxy J4+ skimps on it and relies on Face Unlock instead.

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy J6+ is available in red, black and blue color options at a price of Rs. 15,990 while the Galaxy J4+ costs Rs 10,990 and can be bought in gold, black and blue color models. Both the devices will be sold via Amazon, Flipkart, and retail stores starting from September 25. Buyers also get an option to avail free one-time screen replacement offer at Rs 9,90 till November 11.
