SAS: Rogue Heroes: Release Date, Cast, and more!

BBC is bringing a brand new show, SAS: Rogue Heroes. It is a historical drama television series created by Steven Knight, and is based on the Special Air Service during World War II.

Tommy Bulfin, Martin Haines, Emma Kingsman-Lloyd, and Karen Wilson are the executive producers of the show. In March 2021 it was announced that the miniseries had begun its filming and will release soon.

SAS: Rogue Heroes Release Date

The filming of the series has been completed. It is confirmed to have six episodes and it is dependent on the success of Season 1 if it would be renewed for another season.

Typically a series usually takes around one year for writing and concept, and another year to film. So the release date has yet to be confirmed. As of now, we can expect it in late 2022 or mid-2023.

SAS: Rogue Heroes Plot and Cast

The plot of “SAS: Rogue Heroes,” as mentioned earlier, is based on and around the formation of the British Special Air Service during the campaign in North Africa. We can look towards events passed to glean an idea of what may come to transpire.

Considering that several of the characters are based on real-life people, we can almost know exactly what may occur, though some dramatic license will surely be taken. The SAS was absolutely essential in stopping the ruthless approaching German forces from taking hold of Africa.

The actions of the SAS in North Africa were legendary, and their stealthy actions and downright subterfuge helped the British and the Allies prevail. We could potentially see fake regiments designed to obfuscate the movement and positions of armies alongside the tense and fraught situations involving deceptions.

We might get to see SAS members attempting to lure the local population to their cause. Whatever does come to pass, “SAS: Rogue Heroes” is shaping up to be an interesting miniseries shedding light on a lesser-known WWII story.

Connor Swindells, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Allen, Sofia Boutella, and Dominic West were cast to star. In June 2021 César Domboy joined the cast. We will also get to see Amir El Masry, Theo Barklem-Biggs, Corin Silva, Jacob Ifan, and Dónal Finn.
