Say hello to the King of the OceanFront, Cyffa Leyenda

Some people strive for greatness, some are destined for it. Cyffa Leyenda, the rising young artist, is the latter.

Leyenda was born as Israel Grant in Lynchburg, Virginia. At the age of 3, he was adopted by a wealthy but strict family. Cyffa was never able to get too attached to his new family but rather found a refuge in music. Just after finishing high school, he was signed by Alisha Brooks a.k.a M’Jestie, songwriter for Rihanna (“Pon De Replay”) and many others. He was released after 1.5 years when Alisha realized that Cyffa was destined for greater things.

Just a month after that, Cyffa met Michael Copon, the former Blue Ranger in Power Ranger: Time Force and actor in Scorpion King 2. This landed him a part as a street dancer in the music video of “Walls” by Vickie Jade. However, the next day Copon asked him to realize the potential he saw in the young artist and find his own way.

The motivation was soon tested when Cyffa was kicked out of his home at the age of 18. This was because his adoptive parents didn’t approve of his lifestyle and dreams. However, unmoved by this obstacle, Cyffa marched forward. In 2015 he opened for Rah Digga at Shakas Live. His energy channeled enormous excitement from the crowd.

The same year he performed at S.O.B.’s performances in Manhattan and at The Norva with Lex Luger, Jolley Brothers, and many others. The S.O.B. trip was a particularly fascinating one for him. The trip was his first paid one, along with food and backstage access. This was Cyffa’s first taste of fame, but he knew a lot more was to come.

The year 2018 started with a nice surprise when his hit single was streamed 150k times on Soundcloud. However, the real treat was when he opened up for Megan Thee Stallion. Live streaming that event brought more than 100k people on Cyffa’s Instagram profile. He also spent some time with Megan and even made contact with her manager.

In 2019, Cyffa was a dancer in TEK’s featured music video. While 2019 was a rather slow year for him, 2020 changed it all. Last year, Cyffa released the single “Finito” feat Dela West. It was produced by YoungFrenchy808 and Its64boy, and distributed by Empire. The song garnered 500k views on Tik Tok in no time and even Fat Joe reposted the song on his profile. As the year ended, Cyffa was featured in Respect Magazine, WBOC TV, Vents Magazine, London Daily Post and many others.

As a musician, Cyffa’s biggest virtue is his focus and the “never give up” attitude. Consistency is a huge part of his work ethic. Cyffa jokingly compares himself to a ‘virus’; he believes that like a virus, he can’t be contained. If one door closes, he would find a way to be featured in another. Apart from being hardworking and tenacious, Cyffa is also a street-smart. He understands the value of being available to the public on social media, so never misses a chance of sharing a glimpse of his fun life.

2021 will likely be a big year for Cyffa Leyenda. He has already planned features with artists like Voyage LA, SumeRR, WICZ and Goddess Venus. One of his ambitious goals is to get streamed a million times on Spotify and receive the “one million streams” plaque. With his song ‘Finito’ already streamed more than 500k times (as of January 27th), he will also receive the one million plaque on Soundcloud soon. He will also become the A&R and Marketing Representative at Stackin’ Up Entertainment. Clearly, the young artist is going places in 2021.
